Abstract

Character education is a primary orientation of the Merdeka Curriculum, emphasizing the integration of moral, social, and academic values through the Pancasila Student Profile, which consists of six dimensions, namely faith and noble character, independence, mutual cooperation, critical reasoning, creativity, and global diversity. In the context of higher education, particularly PGMI students as prospective educators, character internalization is an essential aspect in shaping character as reflected in learning attitudes. However, observational findings indicate variations in students’ character development across dimensions, particularly in critical reasoning and creativity, which remain relatively lower compared to other dimensions. This study aims to analyze the attitude assessment of the Pancasila Student Profile among 4B PGMI students cohort 2024 through learning attitude assessment. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 35 students. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and attitude assessment sheets based on the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that all dimensions fall within the good category, with the highest achievement in faith and noble character as well as global diversity, while critical reasoning and creativity show lower achievement, indicating the need for instructional strengthening oriented toward analysis, reflection, and idea development. Thus, it can be concluded that character internalization has taken place but is not yet evenly distributed across all dimensions, requiring more systematic and sustainable instructional strategies to strengthen students’attitude and character.
