Family disharmony may influence adolescents’ emotional experiences, social relationships, and character development. However, students from disharmonious families do not necessarily develop negative characteristics, as their experiences may be shaped by personal meaning-making, social support, school environments, and coping processes. This study aims to explore the dynamics of students’ character development within the context of family disharmony and to understand how students interpret and respond to their family experiences. This study employs a qualitative phenomenological approach to explore the lived experiences of students who have experienced prolonged family disharmony. Data are planned to be collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and relevant documentation, and analyzed using phenomenological data analysis procedures. The expected findings indicate that family disharmony may generate complex emotional and social experiences while simultaneously creating opportunities for students to develop independence, responsibility, empathy, resilience, and emotional maturity. The study is expected to demonstrate that character development is not determined solely by family conditions but emerges through the interaction of family experiences, personal meaning, peer relationships, school support, and individual coping strategies.
